Business Profile
Vinyl Chemicals India was incorporated in the year 1986 and is promoted by the Parekh group.

The principal activity of the company is to manufacture vinyl acetate monomer (VAM). It is also engaged in trading of chemicals and production of processed air. The operations of the company are carried out in India.

It is one of the two manufacturers of VAM in the country with the installed capacity of 27,000 mt per annum.

The company`s main business activity has one primary reportable segment, namely chemicals- which comprises of mainly VAM. The company is in the manufacturing of processed air, stem, oxygen, and nitrogen.

The company had 175 employees as on Mar. 31, 2006. The company has its production plants at Mahad, Dist Raigad, and Maharashtra. Its registered office is at Mumbai, India and its shares are listed on BSE and NSE.

The company disclosed rise of 520.34% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 24.80 million, while total income rose 93.46% y-o-y basis to Rs 1.20 billion for the quarter ended June 2014.

Recent Developments
India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra) has assigned Vinyl Chemicals India (VCIL) a long-term issuer rating of 'A+'. The outlook is stable. A full list of rating actions is at the end of this commentary.

Vinyl Chemicals India announced a sharp rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2013. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 17.69 times to Rs 23.00 million from Rs 1.30 million in the same quarter previous year.

Vinyl Chemicals India swung to a loss for the quarter ended June 2013. During the quarter, the company reported a loss of Rs 5.90 million compared with a profit of Rs 4.60 million in the same quarter last year.

Future Plans
The company has planned in-house facility for recovery of commercial grade diacetate. It has installed a plant for specially acetates and new products development activities are in progress.
