Mumbai based Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company (CIFCO) was incorporated in February, 1984. The company belongs to Champaklal Group is an existing Chennai-based non-banking financial services company. CIFCO has a diversified asset finance business comprising car finance, commercial vehicle finance and capital market finance. It has a strong branch network with 41 branches, primarily concentrated in Southern India with a few branches in Western and Northern India. CIFCO has also entered fee-based businesses through its subsidiaries including asset management, securities broking and distribution services for financial products. CIFCO`s sponsor and major shareholder (55% shareholder) is the Murugappa Group, a reputed large, diversified and profitable conglomerate.
