Indian markets continued to decline for the second day on Friday. At 9.41 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 4.20 points or 0.01% at 36,427.47 with 13 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 2.40 points or 0.02% at 10,949.30 with 20 components falling.

Major losers in the 30-share index were Infosys (2.00%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.00%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.71%), Asian Paints (0.58%), and ICICI Bank (0.25%).

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (2.36%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.90%), Tata Motors (1.36%), Tata Steel (1.02%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.92%), and NTPC (0.54%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was positive with 821 advances against 456 declines.

Alstone Textiles (India) topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Bharat Financial Inclusion (Rs. 218.18 million), Voltas (Rs. 171.49 million) and Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs. 153.82 million).

The volume chart was led by Arshiya with trades of over 3.79 million shares. It was followed by CG Power and Industrial Solutions (3.51 million), Jaiprakash Associates (2.23 million) and Reliance Communications (1.19 million).
