The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 518.85 points or 1.29% at 40,664.35,while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 39.35 points or 0.33%, at 11,922.60.At 11.20 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 225 points or 0.56% at 40,297.16.
