Indian markets bounced back  on Tuesday snapping earlier losses.

At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 376.60 or 0.94% at 40,522.10 with 11 components posting rise.  while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat at 11,767.75. (updated as on 15.59).

Sensex Movers

Bharti Airtel  contributed rise of 89.34 points in the Sensex.  It was followed by H D F C Bank  (79.57 points), Tata Motors  (77.68 points), NTPC  (70.61 points) and Maruti Suzuki India  (24 points).

However, Infosys  contributed fall of 82.97 points in the Sensex.  It was followed by State Bank Of India (71.13 points), Tata Consultancy Services  (62.77 points), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation  (61.93 points) and ICICI Bank  (55.83 points).

Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Kotak Mahindra Bank  (15.02%), NTPC  (9.42%), Bharti Airtel  (9.00%), Larsen & Toubro  (8.80%), Power Grid Corporation Of India  (8.67%),  and Asian Paints  (6.16%).

 On the other hand, Reliance Industries  (6.51%), Bajaj Finserv  (5.20%), State Bank Of India (4.63%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation  (3.47%), Infosys  (2.97%),  and Tata Consultancy Services  (2.95%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

Market Breadth

Market breadth was negative with 1,322 advances against 1,107 declines.

Value and Volume Toppers

Infosys  topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 377.61 million.  It was followed by Larsen & Toubro  (Rs. 253.16 million), Tata Global Beverages  (Rs. 193.74 million) and Ashok Leyland  (Rs. 161.68 million).

The volume chart was led by Birla Power Solutions  with trades of over 12.09 million shares.  It was followed by Sam Leaseco  (4.22 million), Bellary Steels & Alloys  (2.03 million) and Ashok Leyland  (1.98 million).
