Interglobe Aviation (Indigo) made a strong debut on the stock markets on Tuesday by listing at a huge premium of 11.86% over its issue price. At the BSE, stock opened at Rs 855.80 a share as against issue price of Rs 765 a share.

Currently, shares are trading at Rs 884.75, up 15.65% from its issue price. It recorded a high of 899.5 and a low of Rs 849 at the NSE (12.26 pm). A total of 21.04 million shares exchanged hands at the NSE. That translated into turnover of Rs 18.48 billion.

IndiGo is India's largest passenger airline operates on a low-cost carrier (LCC) business model and focuses primarily on the domestic Indian air travel market. IndiGo has a fleet of 98 aircraft and about 75 of them are on operating lease - a business model which has helped it lower costs.
