Syngene International, a subsidiary of Biocon, made a strong debut on Tuesday at the stock exchanges. Shares of the company settled at Rs 311, a premium of 24.40% against the issue price of Rs 250.

The stock touched a high of Rs 318.50 and low of Rs 295. It opened at Rs 295 at the NSE. A total of 18.44 million shares exchanged hands at the NSE. That translated into turnover of Rs 56,891.40 million.

Syngene is service provider for development of novel molecular entities (NMEs) or new drugs. In this process, it works with customers to conduct discovery, development and pilot manufacturing (scale-up, pre-clinical and clinical supplies) under one roof.
