Syngene International, a subsidiary of Biocon, made a strong debut on the stock markets on Monday by listing at a huge premium of 18% over issue price. At the NSE, stock opened at Rs 295 a share as against issue price of Rs 250 a share.

Currently, shares are trading at Rs 312.30, up 24.92% from its issue price. It recorded a high of 315 and a low of Rs 295 at the NSE (11.17 am). A total of 12.68 million shares exchanged hands at the NSE. That translated into turnover of Rs 38,894.93 million.

Syngene is service provider for development of novel molecular entities (NMEs) or new drugs. In this process, it works with customers to conduct discovery, development and pilot manufacturing (scale-up, pre-clinical and clinical supplies) under one roof.
