Indian rupee has depreciated on Tuesday against US dollar. Indian currency declined 5 paise or 0.08 percent against dollar to settle at 61.92. Rupee has witnessed a high of 61.80 and a low of 61.94. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.89.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, gained 0.12 percent to settle at 17.

Indian equities settled higher for the fourth day on Tuesday led by gains in oil & gas, IT and healthcare stocks. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 134.59 points or 0.46 percent at 29,593.73 with 19 components registering rise.  Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 39.50 points or 0.44 percent at 8,996.25 with 30 components posting rise.
