CPI inflation eases to 3.28% in Sep'17

Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), gained to 3.28% in September from 3.36% in the previous month. In September 2016, CPI inflation was at 4.39%.

Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 1.25% from 1.52% in the previous month. In September 2016, CFPI inflation was at 3.96%.

Food and beverages price inflation stood at 1.76%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 6.95%.

Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 4.63% in prices.

Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 5.56%. Household goods and services inflation was 4.22%.

Health segment inflation was 4.15%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 3.50%.

Education segment recorded inflation of 4.25%. Personal care and effects segment inflation was 2.95%.
