Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), declined to 1.54% in June from 2.18% in the previous month. In June 2016, CPI inflation was at 5.77%.
Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 2.12% lower from 1.05% lower in the previous month. In June 2016, CFPI inflation was at 7.79%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 1.17% lower, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 5.62%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 4.17% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 4.54%. Household goods and services inflation was 3.80%.
Health segment inflation was 3.55%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 2.01%.
Education segment recorded inflation of 4.39%. Personal care and effects segment inflation was 3.43%.
