TCS honored with CII Industrial IP Award 2020 for Best Patents Portfolio

 Tata Consultancy Services, (TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, has won the award for the Best Patents Portfolio in the Large Enterprises (Information and Communications Technology and Services) category at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Industrial Intellectual Property (IP) Awards 2020. This is the fourth consecutive year that TCS has won this award.

The CII Industrial Intellectual Property Awards recognize organizations that foster a culture of IP and its commercialization, bring the achievements of enterprises into the public domain, help set up linkages with academic and research institutions in India and abroad, inform the Government about IP-driven enterprises to engage with in policy making exercises.

TCS has filed 5,500 patent applications and has been granted 1,593 patents, as of Sept. 30, 2020.

"It is a great honor for TCS to receive the CII Industrial IP Award 2020. This is a recognition of our commitment towards creating intellectual property for business impact, economic growth and digital transformation in India and globally," said K Ananth Krishnan, CTO, TCS.

"In today's competitive business environment, patents have become vital to protect and safeguard technological innovations. Our award-winning IP4.0 framework has helped drive our visionary innovation model to accommodate specific market and customer needs and connect the germinated ideas to offerings that can be taken to the market to create differentiated products and accelerate our customers' growth and transformation journeys," said Santosh Mohanty, Global Head, Components Engineering Group, TCS.

Shares of the company gained Rs 41, or 1.43%, to trade at  Rs 2,911.80.  The total volume of shares traded  was  59,429 at the BSE (1.34 p.m., Wednesday).
