Excel Glasses (XCLGLASS) was established in 1970 as a joint sector unit with Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and Excel Productions as joint promoters. In August 1984, the controlling interest was acquired by the Parijat group. XCLGLASS manufactures flint glass bottles and containers. These products are used in the food, pharmaceutical and alcohol industries. The manufacturing plant of the company is located at Pathirappally, Alleppey, Kerala. XCLGLASS is one of the premier soda lime glass container manufacturers in India. Addition of the printing line which can print logo on the bottle after manufacturing is a value-added service. This has enabled the company to bag orders from Coke and gain foothold in the high-margin soft drink bottle business. In 2004, Excel Glasses received ISO 9001-2000 accredition.
