Bajaj Finserv Cos and PCMC to conduct Mega Vaccination Drive in Pune

  Bajaj Finserv companies comprising Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will conduct a Mega Vaccination drive from 17th-31st Dec 2021. The drive will be spread across 62 Covid Vaccination Centres (CVC) covering 7 wards of YCMH, Yamunanagar, Talera, Sangavi, Jijamata, Bhosari and Akurdi. 

As a part of its continued efforts in supporting state administration and district authorities towards vaccinating residents of Pune, Bajaj Group comprising Bajaj Finserv companies and Bajaj Auto had earlier partnered with PMC, PCMC and Zilla Parishad to conduct mega vaccination drives across urban and rural Pune areas.

The Group has so far donated over 8 lakh COVID-19 vaccine and 9 lakh syringes and participated in mass mobilisation efforts and awareness campaigns to drive maximum inoculation of residents. This initiative is a part of the ongoing efforts by the government to achieve 100 percent COVID-19 vaccination by the end of December 2021.

To support the nationwide objective of protecting the health and safety of citizens, Bajaj Finance Limited, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited have provided 1.05 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for administering vaccination to the rest of the left out population in the PCMC areas. The CSR health initiative is aimed at protecting the health and safety of Punekars. 

Commenting on the initiative Ajay Sathe, CSR Head, Bajaj Finserv said, "As a part of our ongoing CSR initiative, to protect the health and safety of Punekars, we have been conducting various vaccination drives around urban and rural Pune to support the state government authorities with their immunization efforts. We are committed to assisting the authorities in every possible way to get the 100 percent population of the city vaccinated and stay safe and protected against COVID-19 virus. We are grateful to PCMC authorities for their continuous efforts towards this objective and we look forward to helping them to keep Pune healthy and safe."

The Bajaj Group had committed Rs. 300 crore since the start of the pandemic to support the fight against COVID-19. The support was utilised to alleviate the immediate on-ground challenges as well as to build capability and resources. This includes the installation of 12 oxygen plants to provide more than 5,000 LPM of oxygen supply to rural and urban hospitals, along with respiratory support equipment like oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and BiPaps, to help augment their capacity in treating COVID-19 patients.

The Group has donated close to 8 lakh Covishield vaccine doses to local authorities in Pune and Aurangabad.The Group had also worked with the Government, local administration and a network of more than 200 NGO partners to support various projects to ensure that the desired help and support was extended to those who needed the most including immediate food relief to stranded migrants; upgradation of urban and rural healthcare facilities; provision of key healthcare devices; and livelihood support for returned migrants.

Shares of the company gained Rs 8.35, or 0.05%, to trade at Rs 16,683.40. The total volume of shares traded was 9,132 at the BSE (Thursday).
