Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), has posted a 41% growth in its sales in the month of October 2008 in Orissa market, reports Business Standard.
MSIL posted an all time high sales volume of 747 units across all its models in the Orissa market in October this year, thereby getting past its previous best sales figure of 616 units recorded in May this year.
MSIL`s pan India sales slid by about 8% from 64,258 units in October 2007 to 59,127 units in October this year.
The company said that the sales growth in the Orissa market came back on high demand for fuel efficient cars across all models because of good ground level work by the dealers and the company`s efforts to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maruti`s sales growth in the state was led by its popular and fuel efficient Alto car which clocked sales of 252 units, followed by Wagon-R at 190 units and Swift at 111 units.
Shares of the company closed up Rs 37.35, or 6.62%, at Rs 602. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 239,428 (Monday).
