Indian markets continued to gain for the second day on Friday. At 1.10 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 76.99 points or 0.30% at 26,035.62 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 22.95 points or 0.29% at 7,906.75 with 26 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Hindalco Industries (3.13%), Larsen & Toubro (1.54%), Vedanta (1.50%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.38%), ICICI Bank (1.34%) and State Bank Of India (1.17%).
On the other hand, GAIL (India) (1.60%), Reliance Industries (1.28%), Bajaj Auto (1.09%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.01%), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (0.55%) and ITC (0.44%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,159 advances against 1,206 declines.
