Indian markets continued to fall for the second day on Friday. At 9.59 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 67.61 points or 0.19% at 35,364.78 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 27.55 points or 0.26% at 10,713.55 with 37 components falling.
Major losers in the 30-share index were Reliance Industries (1.44%), Coal India (1.21%), State Bank Of India (0.99%), Cipla (0.89%), and Wipro (0.85%).
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (1.78%), Tata Power Company (1.34%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.62%), ITC (0.56%), Tata Steel (0.42%), and Infosys (0.25%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 535 advances against 940 declines.
Vakrangee topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 217.54 million. It was followed by Strides Shasun (Rs. 80.59 million), Reliance Industries (Rs. 65.95 million) and I C I C I Bank (Rs. 65.73 million).
The volume chart was led by Vakrangee with trades of over 4.14 million shares. It was followed by Alok Industries (1.26 million), Reliance Communications (1.14 million) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (0.56 million).
