Indian equities extended gains in the noon trade on Friday led by sharp fall in brent crude. At 12.37 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 311.36 points or 1.09% at 28,750.27. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 118.20 points or 1.39% at 8,612.40.
The Banking index climbed the most with a gain of 2.95% followed by Consumer Durables (1.65%). On the other hand IT dropped by 0.06%. SBI, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors were major gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand SSTL, Bajaj Auto, TCS and Bharti Airtel were top losers in the benchmark index.
Overall market breadth was positive with 1,566 advances against 1,169 declines.
Shares of Just Dial witnessed a jump of 2.17% today after the Reserve Bank of India increased the investment limit for overseas investors.
