Indian markets continued to trade higher on Thursday supported by realty and power stocks. At 1.39 p.,m., the Sensex was trading up 160.14 points or 0.58% at 27,723.57 with 19 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 42.15 points or 0.50% at 8,417.20 with 33 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Cipla (3.43%), Hindustan Unilever (2.67%), I T C (2.65%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.16%), NTPC (1.81%), and State Bank Of India (1.64%).
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.24%), Infosys (0.76%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.64%), Coal India (0.50%), Vedanta (0.50%), and H D F C Bank (0.39%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
The Realty index was at 1,338.63, up by 35.62 points or by 2.73%. The Power index was at 2,077.05, up by 23.47 points or by 1.14%. The PSU index was at 7,611.84, up by 66.77 points or by 0.88%. On the other hand, the Metal index was at 8,510.80, down by 28.56 points or by 0.33%.
Market breadth was positive with 1,577 advances against 882 declines.
