Indian markets ended higher on Thursday led by realty and power stocks. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 141.92 points or 0.51% at 27,705.35 with 21 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 46.75 points or 0.56% at 8,421.80 with 34 components posting rise.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (5.23%), Cipla (4.79%), I T C (3.90%), Hindustan Unilever (2.32%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.96%), and Tata Power Company (1.83%).
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.89%), Hindalco Industries (1.60%), Infosys (1.48%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.08%), Tata Steel (0.92%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.75%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The Realty index was at 1,348.35, up by 45.34 points or by 3.48%. The Power index was at 2,077.07, up by 23.49 points or by 1.14%. The PSU index was at 7,610.08, up by 65.01 points or by 0.86%. On the other hand, the TECk index was at 6,141.56, down by 33.57 points or by 0.54%.
Market breadth was positive with 1,614 advances against 1,012 declines.
