Domestic markets tumbled due to a fresh bout of selling across Asia and Europe. Commodity prices plunged while US stock futures were sharply lower as weak manufacturing and services sector data out of China that added to concerns about a global growth slowdown.
US markets ended negative reflecting ongoing concerns about the global economy following the release of some disappointing Chinese economic data.
