Indian equities continued to decline for the fourth day on Wednesday. At 14.33., the Sensex was trading down 409.57 points or 1.02% at 39,871.63 with 27 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 122.45 points or 1.04% at 11,675.45 with 42 components falling.
Tata Power Company (5.03%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (3.33%), Tata Motors (3.30%), Maruti Suzuki India (2.41%), I T C (2.30%), and Larsen & Toubro (2.19%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
On the other hand, biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Yes Bank (2.70%), Hindustan Unilever (0.39%), H C L Technologies (0.39%), Asian Paints (0.29%), Axis Bank (0.16%), and Bajaj Auto (0.16%).
Market breadth was negative with 771 advances against 1,326 declines.
Frontier Springs topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 7.24 million. It was followed by Manorama Industries (Rs. 6.80 million), Stovec Industries (Rs. 2.13 million) and SVP Global Ventures (Rs. 1.72 million).
The volume chart was led by Sintex Industries with trades of over 0.29 million shares. It was followed by FCS Software Solutions (0.09 million), Surat Textile Mills (0.05 million) and Frontier Springs (0.02 million).
