Indian equities bounced back on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 9.24 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 178.61 points or 0.52% at 34,478.08 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 46.60 points or 0.45% at 10,347.65 with 37 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Hero Motocorp (2.75%), Tata Motors (2.55%), Bajaj Auto (2.16%), Tata Power Company (2.13%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.91%), and Maruti Suzuki India (1.74%).
On the other hand, Infosys (0.74%), Hindustan Unilever (0.42%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.41%), Asian Paints (0.16%), Wipro (0.06%), and Coal India (0.04%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 763 advances against 328 declines.
Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 3,345.32 million. It was followed by Petronet LNG (Rs. 165.38 million), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (Rs. 124.04 million) and Birla Sun Life Fixed Term Plan - Series IP - Regular Plan - Growth (Rs. 111.30 million).
The volume chart was led by Birla Sun Life Fixed Term Plan - Series IP - Regular Plan - Growth with trades of over 10.00 million shares. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (1.59 million), Petronet LNG (0.77 million) and Spicejet (0.63 million).
