Indian equities continued to rally for the fourth day on Tuesday. At 9.27 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 125.83 points or 0.37% at 33,914.37 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 37.00 points or 0.36% at 10,416.35 with 36 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Axis Bank (3.21%), Adani Ports And Special Economic Zone (2.21%), ICICI Bank (1.80%), Larsen & Toubro (1.12%) and Tata Steel (1.10%).
On the other hand, Wipro (1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.16%), HDFC Bank (0.49%), Hero Motocorp (0.51%) and Maruti Suzuki India (0.25%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 949 advances against 335 declines.
Hindalco Industries topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 59.71 million. It was followed by Vedanta (Rs. 46.06 million), India Glycols (Rs. 43.52 million) and Venky's (India) (Rs. 40.48 million).
The volume chart was led by Unitech with trades of over 0.83 million shares. It was followed by Aplaya Creations (0.72 million), Praj Industries (0.33 million) and IDBI Bank (0.31 million).
