Indian equities continued to rally for the second day on Friday. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading at a new life time high. At 9.00 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 91.73 points or 0.27% at 34,595.22 with 14 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 32.85 points or 0.31% at 10,684.05 with 21 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were ICICI Bank (1.03%), Wipro (0.64%), Tata Motors (0.58%), Larsen & Toubro (0.51%) and Reliance Industries (0.50%).
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (1.02%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.48%), Yes Bank (0.26%) and Bharti Airtel (0.16%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Indiabulls Housing Finance topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,814.83 million. It was followed by Infosys (Rs. 1,414.81 million), Aban Offshore (Rs. 1,202.96 million) and Jai Corp (Rs. 498.62 million).
The volume chart was led by Birla Power Solutions with trades of over 12.09 million shares. It was followed by Urja Global (6.38 million), Sunstar Realty Development (5.74 million) and Subex (5.73 million).
