Indian markets bounced back on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 9.36 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 68.40 points or 0.20% at 33,439.16 with 11 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 26.25 points or 0.25% at 10,376.40 with 14 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Cipla (4.46%), Axis Bank (3.30%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.92%), Lupin (1.74%) Asian Paint (1.42%).
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (5.27%), Reliance Industries (0.60%), ICICI Bank (0.51%), ONGC (0.39%) and NTPC (0.25%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 641 advances against 957 declines.
Lupin topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 178.21 million. It was followed by Adani Enterprises (Rs. 115.33 million), Tata Elxsi (Rs. 68.77 million) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (Rs. 64.53 million).
The volume chart was led by Adani Enterprises with trades of over 0.74 million shares. It was followed by Himachal Futuristic Communications (0.68 million), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.50 million) and Unitech (0.41 million).
