Indian equities continued to rally for the second day on Tuesday. At 9.48 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 104.37 points or 0.32% at 32,611.09 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 21.70 points or 0.21% at 10,206.55 with 37 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.51%), Tata Steel (2.20%), NTPC (1.78%), Axis Bank (1.56%), Hindustan Unilever (1.55%), and Asian Paints (1.31%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (0.95%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.87%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.54%), Larsen & Toubro (0.42%), Reliance Industries (0.23%), and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.22%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,073 advances against 568 declines.
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 190.27 million. It was followed by Reliance Capital (Rs. 98.50 million), NCC (Rs. 79.51 million) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (Rs. 72.75 million).
The volume chart was led by Himachal Futuristic Communications with trades of over 2.43 million shares. It was followed by NCC (0.80 million), D C W (0.65 million) and Bhushan Steel (0.65 million).
