Indian markets bounced back on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 10.10 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 26.37 points or 0.08% at 32,428.74 with 13 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 7.20 points or 0.07% at 10,154.75 with 20 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Reliance Industries (2.19%), Larsen & Toubro (1.48%), GAIL (India) (1.12%), Tata Steel (0.82%), ITC (0.71%), and State Bank Of India (0.62%).
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (1.98%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.56%), Tata Motors (1.51%), Coal India (1.39%), Hero Motocorp (1.30%), and Cipla (1.29%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,088 advances against 713 declines.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 355.61 million. It was followed by Walchandnagar Industries (Rs. 256.91 million), Reliance Industries (Rs. 239.06 million) and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure (Rs. 237.04 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 5.23 million shares. It was followed by Unitech (2.83 million), H B L Power Systems (1.62 million) and Reliance Power (1.43 million).
