Indian markets continued to rally for the sixth day on Monday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 151.15 or 0.47% at 32,423.76 with 20 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 67.70 or 0.67% at 10,153.10 with 36 components registering rise.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bajaj Auto (3.57%), Hindustan Unilever (2.77%), Larsen & Toubro (2.09%), Coal India (1.89%), Cipla (1.70%), and Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.56%).
On the other hand, ITC (0.95%), Tata Steel (0.92%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.90%), Tata Power Company (0.71%), State Bank Of India (0.70%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.53%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,467 advances against 1,050 declines.
Divis Laboratories topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 625.67 million. It was followed by B F Utilities (Rs. 503.81 million), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (Rs. 358.82 million) and Larsen & Toubro (Rs. 350.82 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 11.73 million shares. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (3.25 million), Unitech (3.22 million) and Reliance Communications (2.41 million).
