Indian rupee has depreciated against US dollar on Monday. Local currency fell 12 paise or 0.19 percent against dollar to trade at 64.44.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.40 and a low of 64.46. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, went up 0.02 percent to trade at 93.88.
On Friday, rupee has gained 11 paise or 0.17 percent against dollar to settle at 64.32.
Local stock markets continued to gain for the second day on Monday. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading at a new life time high. At 9.50 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 134.49 points or 0.42% at 32,163.38 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 17.25 points or 0.17% at 9,932.50 with 27 components gaining.
