Indian rupee has declined against US dollar on Monday. Local currency declined 5 paise or 0.08 percent against dollar to settle at 64.50.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.46 and a low of 64.59. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, fell 0.09 percent to settle at 97.35.
Local stock markets ended higher on Monday. Both Sensex and Nifty traded at a new life time high. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 81.07 or 0.26% at 31,109.28 with 15 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 9.80 or 0.10% at 9,604.90 with 22 components posting rise.
