Indian markets gained on Thursday. At 1.51 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 28.88 points or 0.10% at 29,560.31 with 14 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 6.90 points or 0.08% at 9,150.70 with 26 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (4.62%), State Bank Of India (0.94%), HDFC Bank (0.69%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.64%), Hindustan Unilever (0.62%), and Reliance Industries (0.55%).
On the other hand, Axis Bank (1.17%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.07%), Coal India (0.92%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.86%), Infosys (0.80%), and Tata Steel (0.49%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,569 advances against 850 declines.
Bharti Airtel topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 2,063.64 million. It was followed by Bank Of Baroda (Rs. 1,623.69 million), Housing Development Finance Corporation (Rs. 1,236.21 million) and Balkrishna Industries (Rs. 782.02 million).
The volume chart was led by Future Consumer with trades of over 25.26 million shares. It was followed by Bank Of Baroda (9.32 million), Suzlon Energy (7.93 million) and Spicejet (6.55 million).
