Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 4.60 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on March 29, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 91.30 billion and sold equities worth Rs 86.69 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 12.83 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 39.14 billion and sold equities worth Rs 26.13 billion.
Local stock markets ended higher on Wednesday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 121.91 or 0.41% at 29,531.43 with 16 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 43.00 or 0.47% at 9,143.80 with 26 components registering rise.
