Eight core industries growth eases to 3% in June

India's eight core industries, comprise nearly 38% of the weight in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), registered a 3% growth in in June, 2015 compared with 4.4% in the previous month. In June last year, Index of Eight Core Industries recorded a growth of 8.7%. Its cumulative growth during April to June, 2015-16 was 2.4%.

Coal production rose 6.3% in June, 2015 over June, 2014. Crude oil production declined by 0.7% in June, 2015 over June, 2014. Natural gas production declined by 5.9% in June, 2015.

Petroleum refinery production climbed 7.5% in June, 2015. Fertilizer production increased by 5.8% in June, 2015. Steel production moved up 4.9% in June, 2015.

Cement production went up 2.6% in June, 2015. Electricity generation increased by 0.2% in June, 2015.
