NHPC, an Indian electric utilities company, announced that the board of directors of the company decided to extend financial assistance to the HCC to enable completion of balance works of Teesta Low Dam Hydroelectric Project Stage-IV.
Further, Government of India has accorded its approval for infusion of equity upto Rs 16.05 billion in the company's joint venture company, Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPPPL) for construction of Pakal Dul (1000 MW) and for initial investment in Kiru (660 MW) and Kwar (560 MW) HE projects.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.55, or 2.75%, to trade at Rs 20.55. The total volume of shares traded was 789,571 at the BSE (2.07 p.m., Friday).
