Celgene Corp has reported a 36.51 percent jump in profit for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2014. The company has earned $508.50 million, or $0.61 a share in the quarter, compared with $372.50 million, or $0.43 a share for the same period last year. On the other hand, adjusted net income for the quarter stood at $805.60 million, or $0.97 a share compared with $669.50 million or $0.78 a share, a year ago.         

Revenue during the quarter grew 18.38 percent to $1,982.20 million from $1,674.40 million in the previous year period. Gross margin for the quarter expanded 22 basis points over the previous year period to 95.07 percent. Total expenses were 67.38 percent of quarterly revenues, down from 72.79 percent for the same period last year. This has led to an improvement of 541 basis points in operating margin to 32.62 percent.        

Operating income for the quarter was $646.60 million, compared with $455.60 million in the previous year period.
