Indian rupee has strengthened on Monday against US dollar. Indian currency rose 13 paise or 0.21 percent against dollar to trade at 61.31. Rupee has witnessed a high of 61.18 and a low of 61.31. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.91.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, went up 0.19 percent to trade at 85.27.
Swastika Investmart expects the rupee to trade on a neutral to negative note against the dollar due to upbeat global markets and less positive than expected building permits data from US along with weaker dollar index, close to the 85 mark. However, corrections in the domestic market may cap sharp gains in the rupee.
