Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 27% in sales in September 2014 to 9,193 units as against 7,232 units sold in the same period of last year.
The company experienced a rise of 40% in its M&HCV products segment to 6,621 units in September. The company's large commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a gain of 2% to 2,572 units in September.
Sales for April-September 2014 went up 1% over previous year period to 45,327 units.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.9, or 2.19%, to settle at Rs 42. The total volume of shares traded was 2,013,795 at the BSE (Wednesday).
