Thermax surges after JV firm bags Rs 3.39 bn order

Thermax witnessed a sharp rise in share prices on Wednesday after the company said its joint venture company received export order. Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions (TBWES), a joint venture of Thermax and U.S.based Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG), has received an export order worth Rs 3.39 billion from B&W PGG. As a part of order, the joint venture will undertake detailed engineering, manufacturing and supply of selective items for two pulverized coal-fired boilers for an international project. Shares of the company are trading at Rs 925, up Rs 36.35, or 4.09% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 9:49 a.m. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 950 and low of Rs 922.70. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 15,126.
