Colgate-Palmolive, engaged in the business of household, health care and personal products, said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting today has declared a first interim dividend of Rs 8 a share of Re 1 face value for FY 2014-15.

The dividend will be paid on the paid-up equity share capital of Rs 136 million involving a total payout of Rs 1088 million including dividend distribution tax.

The said interim dividend declared by the board will be paid on Oct. 16, 2014.

Shares of the company gained Rs 28.2, or 1.74%, to settle at Rs 1,653.50. The total volume of shares traded was 8,566 at the BSE (Monday).
