Dollar-rupee futures depreciated on Friday against US dollar. USDINR September contract went down 5 paise or 0.08 percent at 60.92 as against previous close of 60.97.
The most active September contract recorded a high of 60.94 and a low of 60.815 after opening at 60.90. A total of 0.5 million contracts were traded till 12:26 pm. Turnover for September contract was at Rs 30.64 billion. Meanwhile, open interest was at 0.96 million.
Indian rupee has strengthened on Friday against US dollar, driven by hopes of continued foreign fund buying in shares and bonds. Indian currency rose 2 paise or 0.03 percent against dollar to trade at 60.82. Rupee has witnessed a high of 60.74 and a low of 60.83. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.91.
