Indian rupee has appreciated on Wednesday against US dollar ahead of the US Federal Reserve meeting. Indian currency went up 14 paise or 0.23% against dollar to settle at 60.92.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 60.88 and a low of 61.03. Its 52-week range was 58.34-63.91. The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, fell 0.06% to settle at 84.03.

Today, the stock markets settled higher. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 138.78 points or 0.52% at 26,631.29 with 21 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 42.60 points or 0.54% at 7,975.50 with 33 components posting rise.
