Wipro Arabia, a subsidiary of Wipro today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Saudi-based Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). It is the largest power utility company in the Middle East serving approximately 5 million customers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KAS).
As part of this engagement, Wipro will implement and rollout the plant maintenance and project system functionally of the SAP ERP application for SEC's distribution business line across KSA.
Thomas George, general manager and head, Wipro Arabia said, "We are partnering with SEC in this transformational initiative to enhance its effectiveness and competitiveness in the market by deploying the state-of-the-art SAP ERP solution and delivering efficient IT services."
Shares of the company declined Rs 7.75, or 1.35%, to settle at Rs 567. The total volume of shares traded was 75,110 at the BSE (Monday).
