Cabinet okays 11.36% disinvestment in NHPC

 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved the disinvestment of 11.36% paid up equity capital of NHPC out of the Government of India's shareholding of 85.96%.
 Increase in public shareholding would provide greater opportunity for the investing public to participate.
Shares of the company declined Rs 0.7, or 3.13%, to trade at Rs 21.70. The total volume of shares traded was 946,992 at the BSE (10.12 a.m., Thursday).
