The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved the disinvestment of 5% paid-up capital in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) out of the government of India's shareholding of 68.94%.

This would further broad base the shareholding of the company and would enhance disinvestment receipts, the government said.

Shares of the company declined Rs 3.3, or 0.74%, to trade at Rs 442. The total volume of shares traded was 145,231 at the BSE (10.02 a.m., Thursday).
