Domestic passenger car sales rose 15.16% to 1,53,758 units in August as compared to 1,33,513 units in August last year, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Motorcycle sales during the month grew by 14.45% to 9,10,312 units as against 7,95,411 units in August last year.

In July, domestic passenger car sales grew 5.04% to 1,37,873 units compared with 1,31,257 units in the same month last year. Motorcycle sales during July grew 6.17 per cent to 8,59,290 units from 8,09,386 units in the same month previous year.
