Jyoti bags hydro power order worth Rs 4.23 bn

Jyoti, engaged in manufacturing electrical and hydraulic engineering equipments, has won a major and prestigious order from Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam in joint venture with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL) worth Rs 4.23 billion for complete EPC of civil, electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical works including 5 years operation and maintenance for Saurashtra Branch Canal project in Mehsana district.

Jyoti portion in this order will be about Rs 1 billion for supply of electro-mechanical equipment.

The project includes 3 power houses on Saurashtra Branch Canal having 9 numbers of 5MW full kaplan machines totalling 45MW capacity. The project is to be completed within 24 months.

Shares of the company gained Rs 12.4, or 18.76%, to trade at Rs 78.50. The total volume of shares traded was 35,593 at the BSE (11.02 a.m., Friday).
