Jaiprakash Power Ventures, a part of India's leading infrastructure conglomerate Jaypee Group, announced that first unit of 660 MW of (2 x 660 MW = 1320 MW) Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Project (A division of Jaiprakash Power Ventures) has commenced commercial operations with effect from Sept. 03, 2014.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Sep. 02, 2014, falling 25.55% compared with the Sensex's 6.04% rise. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 20.00% as against 9.46% rise in the Sensex.
Shares of the company declined Rs 0.2, or 1.36%, to trade at Rs 14.55. The total volume of shares traded was 624,275 at the BSE (11.59 a.m., Wednesday).
