India stock index futures signal negative open

Indian equities are likely to open on negative note tracking global markets on Tuesday, Sept. 02, 2014. SGX Nifty trading at 8,057.50 (08.25 am), 20.50 points higher than Monday's close of 8,037.

Asian stocks are trading on positive note in early trade on Tuesday. Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 up 0.33% to open at 15,526.94. China's Shanghai Composite opened up by 0.19% at 2,239.68.

European stock markets closed marginally higher on Monday. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 2.42 points or 0.08 percent to settle at 3,175.05. While UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 5.56 points or 0.08 percent to close at 6,825.31. Germany's benchmark index DAX gained 8.86 points or 0.09 percent to end at 9,479.03. French benchmark index CAC 40 declined 1.31 points or 0.03 percent to end at 4,379.73.
 
Crude oil prices settled higher in futures market on Monday. Light sweet crude oil (WTI) futures rose 1.41 dollar or 1.49 percent to close at USD 95.96 a barrel at the New York-based commodity exchange NYMEX. Brent crude oil futures rose 0.73 dollar or 0.71 percent to close at USD 103.19 a barrel at NYMEX. Natural gas futures remained flat at 4.065 a gallon at the NYMEX.
