Indian equities witnessed a new high in today's trade. IT stocks witnessed a gain whereas realty, FMCG and power stocks registered a fall.

At 1.54 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 74.90 points or 0.28% at 26,435.01. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 23.05 points or 0.29% at 7,914.15.

Top gainers were Hindalco (2.50%), SBI (2.44%), Infosys (1.44%) and TCS (1.15%).

Major losers were Coal India (1.96%), HDFC (1.82%), Bharti Airtel (1.37%) and Dr Reddy's Laboratories (1.33%).

The Realty index was at 1,817.82, down by 19.7 points or by 1.07%. The FMCG index was at 7,150.94, down by 55.53 points or by 0.77%. The Power index was at 2,102.10, down by 11.33 points or by 0.54%.

On the other hand, the IT index was at 9,921.76, up by 133.27 points or by 1.36%.
